❤ Tamara and Israel Gottesman: Happy for the Conservation of the Mosaic in Aegina

We visited Greece the first time in 1986, as deck passengers on a ferry from Haifa to Pireas with our 2 kids 10 and 14, and our old Subaru. It was love at first sight.
After 2 trips driving from place to place we begun to rent villas by the sea and spend time with family and friends. In 1997 we got both skippers licences and for the last 20 years we sail in Greece a few times a year from island to island. We visited Aegina first time in 1990, and when we begun to sail every trip either begun or ended in Aegina. Every time we loved the island more and more. End of 2016 we were lucky to buy a house in Aegina and we are still amazed how much we enjoy it, also the children, grandchildren and friends. All our neighbors and new friends on the island make us feel really at home. And our Greek is also improving (especially mine).
We have seen the mosaic of the Synagogue many years ago. We appreciated so much that it was carefully moved to its present excellent location, making it accessible to all visitors interested in culture and history. We were also impressed by the beauty of the mosaic and the significance that it has the Greek inscriptions and the central location of the original Synagogue, showing the  status of the Jewish community in the local society.
We very much appreciate the effort to conserve the mosaic and are happy to modestly contribute to it. Support the preservation of the Aegina mosaic too.
